In the late 1980s, acid house was the UK's biggest music revolution for decades, uniting a generation while horrifying parents, politicians and police. The smiley face logo was synonymous with acid house along with ecstasy and unlicensed parties. The second 'Summer of Love' was the name given to the period of 1988 and 1989. Inspired by a trip to Ibiza, several key DJs brought back a mix music to explode on the dance floors. Acid House is a subgenre of house music developed by DJs from Chicago such as Ron Hardy and DJ Pierre.
